Hello, I’m Juan José Gómez López. I am a Senior Software Engineer and Backend Architect based in Cuernavaca, Mexico, dedicated to designing, scaling, and optimizing complex enterprise web platforms for global organizations.

With over 9 years of full-stack development experience, my career has been defined by turning intricate business requirements into high-availability digital infrastructures. I specialize deeply in the PHP ecosystem, particularly in architecting enterprise solutions using Drupal (versions 7 through 11) and WordPress.

I have a proven track record of designing multisite architectures and high-availability systems. Whether it’s executing zero-downtime migrations for tens of thousands of users, or building complex synchronization systems that process massive transactional queues, my goal is always to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient platforms.

The Engineering Philosophy: From Enterprise to Micro-Frameworks

My background in electronics instilled in me a fundamental appreciation for how things work “under the hood.” This drives my approach to software architecture: choose the right tool for the job.

While my day-to-day often involves heavy-duty enterprise environments and cloud infrastructures (AWS, Acquia, Pantheon), I am equally passionate about minimalism in code. When the project calls for it, I love building with lightweight tools like FlightPHP and SQLite to create highly efficient, resource-conscious software.

DevOps, Automation, and the Future

An application is only as good as the infrastructure it runs on. A significant part of my focus is on platform engineering, system integration, and DevOps. I am continuously modernizing legacy deployment workflows, leveraging Docker and transitioning to modern self-hosted deployment platforms like Dokploy to establish true cloud-native infrastructure.

Beyond traditional web architecture, I actively explore the intersection of backend engineering and AI. I regularly utilize machine learning libraries like MLX and run models like LLaMA and Qwen locally to automate tasks and accelerate my development workflows.
